Your child is showing symptoms:

3. Inform school.

4. Child isolates whilst waiting for results.

5. If result is positive, child isolates for 10 days.

6. If result is negative, child returns to school.

7. Members of the household who are fully vaccinated (twice for people over 18 years and 6 months, once for 16-17year olds) or under the age of 16, do not need to isolate unless they are showing symptoms.

8. Members of the household are strongly encouraged to book a PCR to check whether they have the virus.

9. Members of the household do not need to isolate whilst waiting for the result, unless they are showing symptoms.

Your child tests positive using an LFD home test:

1. Child remains off school and isolates.

2. Immediately book a PCR test for your child.

3. Inform school school.

4. Child isolates whilst waiting for results.

5. If result is positive, child isolates for 10 days.

6. If result is negative, child returns to school.

7. Members of the household who are fully vaccinated, or under the age of 16, do not need to isolate unless they are showing symptoms.

8. Members of the household are strongly encouraged to book a PCR.

9. Members of the household do not need to isolate whilst waiting for the result, unless they are showing symptoms.

Your child has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive:

1. Child continues to attend school unless showing symptoms or you have been advised by Track and Trace.

2. We strongly encourage you to book a PCR test for your child.

3. Child attends school whilst waiting for the result unless they are showing symptoms.

We strongly encourage all students to test twice weekly using the LFD home testing kits to help reduce transmission of the virus.

Home Testing

Following the two initial tests on site, students will collect their test at home kits and start testing at home, twice weekly.

Please do not send your child to school if they are unwell and are showing symptoms of Covid-19 which are a high temperature, a new or continuous cough, and a loss of taste and smell.

If your child is showing any of these symptoms:

  • Call the attendance line on 0114 254 2685 to report your child's absence
  • Ring NHS 111 for advice and/or to book a test
  • Continue to keep school informed

If your child, or anyone in your household, is displaying symptoms and/or has been advised to take a test:

  • Keep your child at home until you know the result(s) of the test
  • Inform school

If your child becomes unwell in school, and has Covid-19 symptoms, we will contact you immediately and ask that you collect your child and get a test. Your child will be placed into an isolated medical room, away from other staff and students until you are available to collect them. We ask that you update us with the progress of your child's symptoms and test result.

Please contact us if you need any further support.

Thank you
